Volunteer Spotlight: Kristen Connors

Kristen Connors graduated from law school in 2021 and joined the Burlington-based firm Montroll, Oettinger & Barquist, P.C., as an associate in early 2022. Her current employment is a direct result of her volunteer and pro bono work—she met one of the firm’s partners while volunteering at a pro bono legal clinic, he let her know that they were looking for a new attorney, and the rest is history! 

Kristen believes that pro bono work is a vital part of her practice. With so much need in our communities today, pro bono legal services can be just one of the many tools we can use to address these needs and strengthen our communities.

Kristen’s pro bono work generally mirrors her practice areas as a private attorney. She has a growing practice in the areas of immigration and family law, with experience in civil litigation and a soupçon of criminal defense work. She is also active on the boards of several nonprofit organizations. In her downtime she enjoys DIY home renovation projects, crafting, biking, reading, and spending time with her partner and their cat.
